The filter drops into the tank for simple installation. Filters should be replaced every three months and humidifier water changed weekly to ensure clean breathing air. The Cool Mist humidifiers are also dishwasher- safe for thorough, regular cleaning. To extend the filter's life, some users swap out filters weekly to allow the spare filter to dry well to keep mold from developing. Rotating the filter also may prolong its life.
